football Team News: Sunderland vs Arsenal Lineups

Sunderland make just one change to the side that started at West Ham United a week ago for today’s clash with Arsenal at the Stadium of Light

Billy Jones comes in at right-back in place of Javi Manquillo. The Spaniard drops to the bench.

Jones featured against Southampton in the EFL Cup in midweek and clearly did enough to play himself into the Premier League team.

On-loan Manchester United winger Adnan Junuzaj is fit again and among the substitutes.

Starting XI: Pickford, Jones, Van Aanholt, O’Shea, Kone, Rodwell, Pienaar, Ndong, Khazri, Watmore, Defoe

Arsenal’s trio of Friday fitness tests clearly did not go well because Nacho Monreal, Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott are all absent from the squad to face Sunderland in today’s early kick-off.

There are two changes to the starting lineup. Kieran Gibbs replaces Monreal and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starts for the first time since September 10 in place of Walcott.

Aaron Ramsey is named in a matchday squad for the first time since the opening weekend defeat to Liverpool. He is among the substitutes after recovering from his hamstring injury.

Right-back Carl Jenkinson is also on the bench. He has been sidelined since suffering a serious knee injury while on loan at West Ham United last season.

And striker Olivier Giroud is another fit-again player to make the bench.

Starting XI: Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Gibbs, Coquelin, Elneny, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez
